Oxonica
Oxonica owns proprietary technology which enables it to design, manipulate and engineer certain properties of materials at the nanoscale. The company was floated on the AIM market in 2005, with a market capitalisation on admission of £35m and a share price representing a fourfold increase on the portfolio cost of investment.
Toumaz Technology
Toumaz Technology is undertaking the commercial exploitation of a low-power analogue and RF technology developed at Imperial College. The company was acquired by Nanoscience Inc, an AIM-quoted nanotechnology investor, in 2005 at a valuation of £17m, representing a fourfold increase on the portfolio cost of investment.
Vibration Technology
VibTech was created to exploit a market opportunity in the land seismic instrumentation market, and developed a product incorporating cellular radio technology into onshore seismic exploration equipment. The company was acquired by Sercel in 2006 for cash consideration providing a twofold return on the portfolio cost of investment.
Intrasonics
Intrasonics is exploiting the new market created by mobile TV interactivity with solutions based around proprietary technology in acoustic datacomms. The company was acquired by Dutch private equity house MainFrame Participates in 2007 for cash consideration equivalent to the portfolio cost of investment.
